At St Mark’s, our curriculum is underpinned by our Whole School vision:
‘So, in everything do to others what you would have them do to you.’ Mark 7:12
Our aim is to engage all children through a challenging and stimulating curriculum, which promotes an environment in which creativity can flourish whilst simultaneously encouraging a life-long love of learning. We intend to offer a curriculum that is tailor-made to meet the needs of our children and is sequenced in a way that promotes the acquisition of deepening knowledge and skills.
The curriculum is based around half termly focus areas through which all subjects in the primary curriculum are taught. Daily mathematics and English lessons focus on high- quality teaching of essential key skills which ensures the children become independent learners who are confident and resilient. Planning and teaching is sequential, meaningful and allows all children to reach their full potential. As a result, our children are able to apply these key skills in a meaningful context across a range of curriculum areas and ultimately leave St Mark's fully prepared and ready to approach new and exciting challenges.
‘You provide a well-planned and engaging curriculum.’ OFSTED 2017
